Formed in 2006 by canine enthusiasts, Great Lakes Sport Dog Association. has committed itself in the recognition that ALL breeds are unique and special regardless of bloodlines. We give your dog/handler team a chance to enhance your working relationship and improve your skills while earning ribbons, titles, and of course, bragging rights. In a stress free, relaxed style of competing, our judges and participants are owner/trainers as you; everyone meets on a common ground and is there to help.
Great Lakes Sport Dog Assn (GLSDA) welcomes, and is open to all breeds of canines regardless of pedigree and their owner/handlers. We emphasize on the relationship of canine to owner that is based on obedience, workability and health. A club formed by owner/trainers, we aim to enhance our Training and relationship with our canines, educate ourselves, create a positive community awareness and pass the love of our sport to future owners.
All activities held by the GLSDA are held as events for the purpose of camaraderie between owners and the enjoyment the canine/owner relationship, as well as fun with like-minded owners. As a relatively new organization to Michigan, Great Lakes Sport Dog Assn is now offering competitions and title awards in:
- Upland Pointing Hunt Tests
- Upland Flushing Hunt Tests
- Pointing Lab Hunt Tests
- Retriever Hunt Tests
- Obedience Tests
- Canine Social Citizen Tests
